For Ruth's family- You don't know me, but I feel as though I know you from the Christmas letters. I met Ruth in teaching in Walled Lake, MI in 1965. We both boarded with the same lady, a fellow teacher, who took in other teachers on a temporary basis. We were both filling out the end of a year for 2 different teachers. Ruth went home to Flint every weekend, but I was from KY, a long way from home and knew no one but my fellow teachers and landlady. Ruth took me home with her on 2 occasions and introduced me to her neighbor whom I would marry the next year. We have been married for 47 years. She also taught me to play chess. I too became a quilter upon my retirement from teaching. I am so saddened to learn of Ruth Ann's death, and know that she will live on through you, her beloved husband, children, and grandchildren.
Jane and I were so saddened to hear about Ruth. We still have fond memories of the time that we spent with the two of you. Our prayers and best wishes go out to you, your daughters, and your entire family.
