To Sarah's Parents:
I did not know your daughter personally, but my children and I frequent the Baskin Robbins where she worked. I apologize for the delay in my condolences, however I only recently learned of her passing. I am remembering one day in particular, when my 8-year old couldn't decide on a flavor. He looked at every single flavor over and over, and asked to taste nearly all of them before finally choosing. I expected sighing, rolling of the eyes, and the general sense of impatience that I am typically met with under these circumstances. But oh, no. Not from Sarah. She did not act cross with him at all, just smiled at him with the utmost patience and tolerance. It was as if she understood that it was such an important choice to my child... not just ice cream. As a mother, that meant a lot to me. I cannot even begin to fathom losing one of my babies. My heart broke for you when I heard of your tragic loss. I may not know you, but I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers and wishing you courage and strength as you grieve for your beautiful, patient, kind and wonderful little girl.

Driving past the site of the accident everyday and thinking as a parent, how do you deal with something so sudden and tragic. My thoughts and prayers are with you as I know your lives will never be the same.

Mr. and Mrs. Bearden,
You have raised three beautiful girls with such wonderful personalities and unique qualities. I will miss Sarah very much and I wanted to kindly thank you for allowing me to have known her and for her to have touched my life on a personal level. I am grateful for the memories I have with Sarah and Emily. You are such good people and while sorry doesn't take away a fraction of your pain- I am deeply sorry for your loss. Thank you for blessing us with Sarah. I wish my son and husband could have known how special she was.

IMMORTALITY

"Do not stand by my grave and weep....I am not there. I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am a diamond glint on snow.
I am the sulight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you awake in the morning hush,
I am the swift upflinging rush
of quiet birds circling flight.
I am the soft star shine at night.

Do not stand by my grave and cry....
I am not there.
I did not die.
I live with the Risen Lord."

(author unknown)

I pray each one of you are able to find some sort of peace amongst all of the sadness. I cannot fathom losing a child. Our prayers go out to all of you.

Bearden Family,
Through the years I have had so many stories with Sarah. If I had to write them down it would take years, I still remember her food orders from panera, taco bell and others lol we seemed to eat out ALOT!!! I remember how she loved Twilight and now I dont have her here to talk about the movies with. I will most miss her smile...even if she was mad at me...which could be often she had that big smile on your face! Then because of that smile everyone seemed to forget what they were mad about in the first place. Sarah is my best friend, I am still in shock from all this. It dosent seem real to me, I still think I am going to see her beautiful face walking into my home and this all had been a dream. But its not and I dont know when that is really gonna set in. I love you so much!

To: Carol and the Bearden Family,
there are no perfect words right now to say to you in your time of such of an "unexpected loss".
But, I hope it is some comfort to you knowing that God surely was "expecting" her . Know that she went back to her Father in Heaven, who has made her a mansion to live forever, just as He promised for all of us! It is truly way above our comprehension right now, but know She is in perfect hands. Know that you will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers, be blessed.
Friday, May 28, 2010
I worked with Sarah for about a year at Dorsey BR. The memory that has been engraved in my mind since I have known Sarah was her vibrant spirit. She was truly a joy to work with-- I always looked forward to working with her because I knew it would be an absolute blast. She had such a positive attitude/outlook about life, and that is something that I will always take with me. I too have lost someone very dear to me much too young, and I am painfully sorry another family has to endure a loss such as this one. My love goes out to your family.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

David and Jackie - I remember your beautiful little girls. I have been told that parents have two important responsibilties. One is to give their child roots - which you have done so well. The other is to give their child wings - which I guess is hard enough to do but no parent should be asked to give their child eternal wings. You can, with trust in God and the help and prayers of your friends let Sarah go to her other home. Know that you are in my prayers.

Mr. and Mrs. Bearden and family, I knew your daughter for only a very short time as she was in one of my classes at Spencerian. She was a wonderful person and was always wanting to be there for and help others. She is a true testament of a beautiful young lady....one who was raised with morals and a love for life. She helped me find confidence in myself during a CPR test and assured me that I would do just fine.....my hat off to you, as her parents. This is a learned behavior and one instilled in her by you, her parents. She is a wonderful soul and will forever be a light in the lives of those she touched....even ever so briefly.

To the Bearden family,

Our hearts ache for you with this tragic, senseless loss. We will be holding you close in thought and prayer. May you be comforted in the knowledge that even so many people you have never met are touched and deeply saddened by Sarah's passing.

Not ever having the privilege to meet or get to know your Sarah, I feel a kinship to her as someone who also graduated from Mother of Good Counsel grade school, Sacred Heart Academy and through my son, Michael, who called Sarah "friend". By her example, may the way she lived her life on earth continue to inspire those whose lives Sarah touched.

Sarah,
It's so hard to believe this especially since I was just with you at Melissa's graduation party the night of the accident. Although we were never extremely close you still hold a special place in my heart. Your radiant smile and bubbly personality always lit up the hallways of Sacred Heart. Your love and compassion for others always made me smile. Throughout this tradgedy I just keep reminding myself that God had bigger plans for you and needed a young angel like yourself in heaven. I know now that you are in a far better place where there is no pain or suffering and that you truly are a young beautiful angel. I know that you will watch over all of your family and friends and keep us safe. You truly are an amazing person Sarah and not a day will go by where I dont think of you. My sympathy and grievance goes out to all of your friends and family as I will continue to pray for them. God bless you and may you rest peacefully. I will always love you and miss you.

Love always,
Chelsea Seng

So deeply sorry for your loss. May you find peace knowing that your beautiful Sarah is not suffering, but in God's loving arms.
