As a senior at Mount Notre Dame, Sister Carolyn AmRhein touched my heart. As a junior I had her for a year in our Adopt a Sis group. She taught us love, respect and dignity for ourselves, others and the world. She was a blessing to know. She sent us cards on every holiday and our birthdays. To this day I think back to the time sitting in the dinning hall acting icecream with her and she would just enjoy our presence. Hard of hearing we would all take turns sitting next to her knowing she would talk to us directly. She spent so much time organizing the library and we helped her, unsure how she got the job but she was so happy to do it and we would wonder why. It was because she cared for her sisters, she wanted them to have a nice place to listen to music and find books efficiently. Just spending one year with her and visiting a few times every month gave me enough to see the real works of God within her. OH I cannot forget the birds, she loved watching the birds in the social area, especially the yellow and green twin love birds. What a blessing she was to everyone. Rest in peace sister, myself and MND love you.
