Family and Friends of Stan and Gertrude:
My family and I just learned about Stan's passing. We are truly sorry for your loss. He was such a great neighbor to our family (the Dean's). He shared his kind and gentle nature with all of us. I will be forever grateful for his watchful eye over my mom. Thank you and you will be missed!
I hadn't been ready to do this but we buried my father yesterday, on September 11, at the Dayton National Cemetary and so I must say my goodbye but not forgotten. Dad has been my guide and mentor thorughout my life and I know he will continue to watch over me just as my mother has. I miss you dad! You will be a part of me forever and that is something that cannot go away. I will miss you more than words can convey but I know you are in a better place. I just want you to know how much I love you! Your daughter, Desera
Dear Dee and family, I am so sorry for your loss, your love for your Dad showed every day when you talked about him. His legacy and love for life will live forever in you. Your Dad loved his family and cherished his time with you. He will be missed by everyone. Your in my thoughts and prayers, Love Bonnie
Stan was one of the first to welcome me at the CZ club when I moved to this area. He was always ready to chat and was genuinely interested in what I was doing. We could always talk about our professions and our hobbies. I will always remember him for his many kindnesses and his courage and determination in the last years of his life. Helena Gerrard
Grandpa, you are truelly going to be missed. Thank you for all the fond memories, laughs, and smiles. You may be gone, but you will never be forgotten! Until we see each other again.... I love you.-James
"Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us everyday. Unseen, unheard, but always near. Still loved, still missed, and very dear."-Unknown
Dee, I am so sorry for the loss of your beloved father. I know this is a very difficult time for you and your family. Please know that I am here for you! I will continue to pray for you all.
Grandpa, you will never be forgotten. I will miss talking the Reds and Buckeyes with you. I remember when I was a boy walking with you along the railroad tracks. I also always enjoyed the toys you would make. Thank you so much for being a great grandpa and for being a great husband to grandma. Until we are reunited one day, I know you will be looking over us...
Stan and I were co-workers with the Ohio
Department of Taxation. I had the honor of working with him during my career. He was very good at what he did and the department was blessed to have him on their staff. I consider myself a better person for having known Stan. God Bless Stan and his family.

My father was a wonderful man and will be greatly missed. My sister and I could not have asked for a better father if we had picked one out ourselves and even then I don't think the outcome would have been as good. Anyone who knew my father knew that he was a personable, gentle, caring man with a beautiful soul. He told us many times that he has lived a long, full and happy life with no regrets and he was ready to go when the time came. Although none of us wanted that time to come, we can take some comfort in that he passed quietly and pain free in his sleep. He wanted us to move on and laugh again which brings to mind a saying I heard on a Little House on the Prairie episode many years ago:
“Remember me with smiles and laughter, for that's how I will remember you all.
If you only remember me with tears, then don't remember me at all.”
My next chuckle is for you Dad.
Take comfort in knowing that now you have a special guardian angel to watch over you. We all have many fond memories of Stan, and he will be sorely missed.
Stan was a good neighbor and a great friend. He will be missed, we will always remember his help and kindness. Our prayers are with the family.
Your family is in our prayers during this time of grief.
Stan was a very wonderful man. He always treated my family like we were his own from the very start. He always enjoyed talking to me about my life and my successes and failures. He was supportive to me and I think, proud of my accomplishments. I was glad when the handshakes changed to hugs. That meant that he thought of me as his own. I will miss him.
My grandpa was a very considerate man. He never got angry at least at me. And I would like to thank him for everything that he has ever done for me. My second cousin Evelyn was very close to him and she is flying inn from New Mexico to come to his funeral. God bless everyone! Especially you grandpa I know that you are in a better place now. I have no doubt that he is in heaven, I will miss you grandpa!!!!!! I LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU!!!!!!!!!
Karen, So sorry to hear about Stan's passing. Even though it was not unexpected, losing anyone dear to you is always heart wrenching. I will pray that his journey to the next dimension will be with God's love and mercy, and that your mother can find comfort and strength from family and friends.
With sincere sympathy, your friends from Florida.

When Stan married my mom, he also got me, my husband and eventually three grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren in the deal. He tried to teach me many things. And I wish I would have paid more attention. A few weeks before my father passed, Stan promised my dad that he would watch over my mom, sisters and me. He has fulfilled that promise. Thank you for sharing your heart with me. I love you and wil miss you very much.
My deepest sympathy Karen to you and your family. Stan was a very nice neighbor who enjoyed sitting out on the porch with your Mother and watching the world go by. I'm sorry for your loss.
I would like to say my grandpa was the very best. He was always there for me at all times. He loved to make people laugh. He was a great man. I will deeply miss him. I love you grandpa. Love Jennifer
