Dear Cheryl,

Although we didn't have the pleasure of knowing you socially we always enjoyed seeing you and Tom in church over the years especially at U of M Hospital. Tom always was so warm and kind to our children and we always appreciated his giving spirit. God bless Tom and all of your family.

Dear Cheryl, I enjoyed so much when you and Tom served as Eucharistic Ministers at St. Thomas. Your love for our Lord and for each other radiated through your beautiful faces. Tom was always so pleasant when the three of us walked together to our cars after mass.

I am so happy that now he is in Heaven and from there he will watch over you and your sons and anyone of us who will ask him to advocate for us.
Rest in peace, Tom. You have earned your heavenly reward.

Tom was perhaps one of the nicest people I ever had an opportunity to meet. He will be missed by all who knew and cared for him. He is gone too soon, but made such an impression on all in the short time he was with us.

Tom Allen Family - It seems and sounds untrue that Tom is no longer here with us. It is not a fairy tale. Tom is gone from us. He is no longer here. It is the painful reality that is currently before you and all who know him. It would certainly be hard on you and would take much time before you could heal from the vacuum his death has created. Tom is such an exceptionally good man one would wish to have forever as a family member, a friend or a coworker. But this a wishful thinking. Our life here on earth is limited. I am hopeful and it is my prayer that the exceptionally good Christian life Tom has led while on earth would win him the reward of eternal happiness, joy and peace of God's kindom, Amen. Let us find in his gentle, respectful and kind life our consolation.

Mrs. Allen, Patrick, Jason & Christopher, my deepest condolences. There are no words that can completely describe how wonderful Mr. Allen was and how his passing will leave such a huge hole in so many lives. It has been years, but I will never ever forget how loving and caring he was to me. He was a wonderful, kind, faithful man who will always be in my heart. I pray for you and your entire family and hope that your love and faith will help you through this difficult time. There's a very special angel in Heaven now watching over all of you. Lots of love, God Bless.

Dear Cheryl and Family:
The Pietrasiuk Family thanks Tom for his profound impact on Alex - as a coach, mentor and friend. Tom's faith was such an inspiration to all of us. While he taught my son that golf was a game of honor - he also taught him that the important things in life do not always revolve around hitting a golf ball. I especially enjoyed the stops at Taco Bell after an away match - he loved to hear the boys talk about their best and worst holes. I still recall a memorable trip to Marine City when Tom passed us while we were pulled over so one of the boys could take a bathroom break - the twinkle in his eye once we arrived told us he knew exactly what was going on. This man was held in highest regard by each and every FGR student he coached. We are all so fortunate to have been touched by Tom Allen. God Bless.

Please accept my condolences on the death of your father. It’s still a shock to hear he passed at such a young age. I know mere words may offer but little comfort at this tragic time, but know that my deepest feelings of sympathy lie with you and your family. My sister and brothers asked me to also include their condolences. It seems like we don't keep in touch as often as we like to, but we always think of you and your family. I remember back in the days when I would visit and pick you up on the way to college, I always remember your Dad always embracing us and letting us know how proud he was of us. Those college days of visiting your Mom and Dad in your old neighborhood are full of cherished memories.
I will always remember the time when I dropped you off late after driving from FUS, you were locked out of your house and you didn’t want to wake your Mom and Dad and tried to break in through the window of your house. We thought we were so clever to try that! Little did we know your Dad was there to turn on the light and open the door for us and said "...what in the world are you guys doing out here..." as you were trying to get through the window of your house. He was amazed we just didn't knock on the door. He was always an understanding person. Heather and I will miss your Dad very much. He was an inspirational and caring man and I know he was a great father. You can see that in the successful children that he raised with you (Pat), Jason and Chris.
Please let the rest of your family know how sorry we are of your Dad’s passing and know that we're thinking of you and praying for you constantly.

Tom Allen was a cheerleader for all the girls golfing in the Catholic League. Even when he was not coaching the team, he would stop by the golf course to say HI! and pass on words of encouragement. Our prayers are with the family.

Please accept our condolences at the loss of such a good man. Our daughter Alison had the privilege to know his gentle soul during her last three years on the FGR golf team. We were so lucky to have his influence in her life. We are comforted by the knowledge that before he passed we were able to let him know that the team had qualified for States for the first time ever (or in a very long time). They will be playing in memory of him.

Tom Allen has a multitude of good friends because of all he did for the people he knew, quietly and without fanfare.
I met Tom and Cheryl in 1981 shortly after we moved a few doors down into their neighborhood. Tom had just come back to his Catholic faith, and would be the first to credit the Lord for any of his accomplishments and all the people he touched in his life.
He prayed with, cared for, and served (and even gave money to) his friends in the music community, hospital patients, insurance customers, recovery support, Marriage Encounter, coaching youth, coaching Richard HS golf, his parish, other parishes, his neighborhood, Christian groups, and the list of his friends goes on--because everyone he touched, KNEW that he/she had a good friend in Tom.
God bless Tom Allen. Rest in peace, my friend.
