Tom would have loved his funeral yesterday--good music by Lois, loud talking crowds, the honor guard, the Marine hymn, the message by the Pastor, and the sweet memory tributes, especially by his granddaughter. You went out in style, dear friend, just like you lived your life. You will be missed by all!
Dear Marge and all the Ammends,
I am very sad to hear of Tom's passing. Another one of "The Greatest Generation" is no longer here for us to enjoy and learn how-to-live-life from. Because: Tom lived life fully...as a devoted husband, a father-figure, a person who, daily, said: Game on! (sports, music, get-togethers and ANYthing adventurous...) I will cherish the fond memories I have held about Tom Ammend since I left Wisconsin. My thoughts are with your family.
We were saddened to hear of Tom's passing. Will always remember his love of singing at your parties and what great host ahd hostess you both were. Our sympathy to you all. Marilyn Knutson
At the helm of several boats Tom owned, (kept on the mighty St. Croix River's Marina), a beverage in one hand, the wheel in the other, continually smiling & always good music playing, great food available below in the kitchenette IS the way I'll be remembering our Tom. His steadfast love remains with us & our love for him will never die. His marriage to Marge is exemplary. Thanks for fabulous, fun - filled memories & remarkable patience = priceless & precious.
Our Tom...precious man, caring, helpful, concerned for our wellfare and wellbeing. Unselfish, giving, and always wearing a smile. Singing (quite loud at times) or moving his feet to the music. Full of life! God has received a truly special soul! We will sorely miss him, and try to carry on in his honor!
