Dear Peggy and family,
we are sorry for your loss and are prayers are with you .
Dear Peggy, and all The Corbett Family
My family and I are absolutely heartbroken at the loss of your Husband and Father. I am personally saddenned that I never had the oppurtunity to get to know him better, though it was always my intention to do so. We would always see both Tom and Peggy at church, and my wife Jackie reminded me at how you both always had a kind word to say about our sons Andy and Matthew. Over the summer, Tom called my wife aside and remarked how it was time to get the boys new pants because they were starting to ride up. She could only smile after the many conversations she had with Tom over how long we waited for the boys to finally have a growth spurt. He would always remark to her, "One of these days Mom". I had a chance to spend too brief a time with Tom and Peggy at St. Ed's St. Luke Bible study group. I did so want to get the chance to get to know him better. Now. that will have to wait a while longer. God Bless and keep you Tom. Sent with my deepest respect for you Tom, and with Love and Condolences to all in The Corbett Family. Frank, Jackie, Andy and Matthew Maiorano
Peggy and Family,
I was so saddened to hear of Tom's sudden death. Grief can be so hard at this time but your special memories will help you cope. My prayers are with you and your family at this time.
Dear Mrs. Corbett,
We are so sorry for your loss. We have enjoyed sitting next to you both at 11am mass. You and your family are in our prayers.
Our deepest sympathy to Peggy and the family. Tom was a real "straight shooter" who always supported New Fairfield and the school system. A truly nice man.
Aunt Peggy, Brendan & Patrick,
Stephen and I were so very saddened to hear of Uncle Tom's passing. We were so honored and blessed to have seen both you Aunt Peggy and Uncle Tom at our wedding and build memories which will last a lifetime. Although our wedding was a blur, I vividly remember opening my inlaws door at our rehersal dinner and seeing my Uncle Tom and Aunt Peggy standing there before me with huge smiles on their faces, so proud of me. I will forever cherish that moment in time.
I remember as a little girl our family picnics, my brief encounters with him at school by the busses and his warm embrace filled with love. Uncle Tom had this ability to brighten my day with just one smile.
We will cherish our memories of Uncle Tom and I am thankful that he was there on one of the most important days of my life as I married my husband.
We both love him and will miss him dearly. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, our family in your times of need.
Dear Peggy and Family,
As so many have mentioned before, Tom was an awesome person. His level of caring for others was without compare. He always had a smile and was the first to pitch in when anyone needed a helping hand.
At the Red Cross, Tom was a protector of all and the patriarch of all disaster volunteers. Tom very rarely asked for help, and so I was very surprised when he called me last week to help him with a fire. ONLY because he had two fires, within eight minutes, 35 miles apart....even THAT was a bit much for our super hero!
Tom spoke so often and so lovingly about his family, and was so thrilled to be heading out to visit them a few short weeks ago. At that time the Red Cross office felt so empty without his smiling face, and I heard many "Where's Tom"? Each time I visited.
Our hearts and prayers go out to your family. I hope that your wonderful memories of Tom will help you to fill his huge void in this difficult time.
Please know that your "Red Cross Family" is here for you....forever and always!
We were so very sorry to hear of Tom's passing. He was such a wonderful fellow. Over the years we have come to know your family through shared memories with the Smiths. You and your sons are in our thoughts and prayers.
Bruce and Jolene Zukauskas
Dear Peggy, Brenden,& Patrick,
Tom's smile and generous heart will always be remembered. He surely did God's work here on earth. Called to heaven all too soon. May you all be comforted with wonderful memories and the sound of his laughter in your hearts. With continued prayers that the Lord will hold you all in the palm of His hand.
Thank you so much for sharing Tom with the Red Cross, he was an inspiration to us all and will continue to do so even now. He gave so much to all and what a wonderful life to celebrate.

Peggy and Family... Tom was a great man to know and he will be sorely missed... thoughts and prayers are with you at this very difficult time.
Peggy, Patrick & Brendon,
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Tom was a truly special person. He was always ready to share a smile or a hug. I really enjoyed talking with him about his sons & Granddaughter. I will miss him.
My thoughts & prayers are with you all.
Walking in this world can bring us challenges, trials and tribulations. Sometimes we will meet someone whom every day of his life praises our Lord and his family for the man he is. Tom Corbett was just that man. He reached out to everyone and anyone in need. There was no end to the reaching arms of love Tom had for his fellow man. On any given day, Tom would come to my office to just check in on me or ask if there was anything I needed. Tom always did so with a smile on his face and in his heart. His hugs made my day on many occasions and on others it is what got me through the day. His kind heart and love for family was amazing. His face would light up when he talked about each and every member of his family including his dogs. His love for his sons and granddaughter was always present in every word he spoke about them. The love for his wife Peggy was endless and showed by his concern for her and how much he missed her when she had to travel.
Working side by side with him I saw his decantation for the American Red Cross and it's Mission. Tom was always there when we needed him day or night. He worked very hard and never ever gave in to being tired when there was a job that needed to be done.
Thank you Peggy for allowing me to call your husband out, day and night when there was a neighbor in need. Tom was a true friend and mentor to many of us. I am one of those people that can say I am a much better person for knowing him. I will miss him. I pray for you and your family that your memories of this wonderful man ease your pain and suffering. My Gods blessing be felt this day and always in your life.
Stan and I were so sorry to hear your sad news. We respected Tom and are thinking of you.

Peggy, Brendan, and Patrick,
My heart is breaking for you all. Tom was a class act. He was one of the most compassionate, caring, and kind people I have ever met...and he was funny to boot. When I think of Tom Corbett, I just smile...he was one of those people. Please know how much he loved you all. At work he spoke of his wife and boys with intense love and pride. Carry that love with you always.
With deep sorrow,
Dear Corbett Family,
Please accept my heartfelt condolences at this time of sorrow. I attended Sacred Heart with Tom but was drafted into the Army before graduating. I was able to follow his public career as he served others, he certainly left every one and everything he came in contact with better than he found them. No more can be asked of anyone. Remember all the good he accomplished and the life he had and these memories will see you throgh these trying times
Heartfelt sympathies over the loss of a great man, Tom. I first met Tom over 20 years ago in New Milford while I was learning to drive a school bus. Over those years, I knew a man of integrity, honesty and service to his fellow man. Tom was a blessing to all the lives he touched. He will be missed.

I want you and your sons to know that Tom was a hero to everyone who worked with him. A beacon of unselfish giving. The first to answer a call, never a complaint or excuse. What a great role model for all of us. The best of the best. We miss him terribly, and are thankful for having known him.

So sorry to hear that we have lost such a wonderful caring man. Tom was a a great man and will be missed by many.
Her was one of a kind and will always be fondly remembered.
Tom Corbett was a man of integrity, honesty, compassion and grit,
tough when he needed to be but caring and true to his word as a rule by which to live. I know of few men of whom I have more respect. His counsel I often sought during my thirty years working with him in the New Milford school system. I am a better person to have known him and feel lessened by his loss.
With great sorrow,
We will always cherish your smile! May God bless you and your family and keep you in his arms for all eternity.

I know there are no words to comfort you in the passing of Tom. He was such a wonderful example of how we should all live our lives...helping others. I've often said that "in the end it will not matter how many "toys" we have, only that we've touched the life of another and left the world a better place". Tom has touched the lives of many, and left the world a much better place. God bless you all.
