It has been my honor and privilege to have known all of Mr. and Mrs. Foley's amazing childern as friends -- first Sean, who accepted me when I was new in town and made me feel at home in New Fairfield; then Kevin, who is one of my closest friends and who has been fiercely loyal to me and taught me so much that I know he learned directly from his dad and mom; and then Brenda, whom I saw grow from my kid sister's little friend with braces into an inspiringly successful woman, mother and doctor. I also had the good fortune to get to know John and Nicole through the years, just as much a sibling to them all.
At the service, I thought to myself, "I wish Mr. Foley could have been there on the hundreds of occassions when his children told me stories about him: about how honorable, loyal, funny and unique he was." And then it occurred to me that of course Mr. Foley knew his children thought about him that way, and he knows all those stories now.
I wish them all and their families, and Mrs. Foley, deepest sympathy and consolation during this difficult time. But I consider myself blessed to have known Mr. Foley and his wife through their children, and seeing Mr. and Mrs. Foley's grandchildren running around after the service gave me comfort to know that his memory and the values he passed on to his children will be handed down to theirs.
God bless and a hug to you all....

May we live in peace without weeping. May our joy outline the lives we touch without ceasing.
And may our love fill the world, angel wings tenderly beating.
This is how Thomas lived his life. He was kind and caring. He loved his family and traveled far and wide to see us all. I miss him dearly and will always treasure memories of his visits, time spent with him at the Jersey Shore, how proud he was of my Uncle, Msgr. James Foley, and his wonderful smile. God bless you, Thomas, and I know you went through Heaven's Irish EZ Pass and got your Angel Wings right away.
Wow, I don't know what to say! Your father was a great man!! He was always so pleasant and friendly. I am thinking a lot of your wonderful mom, but also know that she and your dad built a great community of friends and have 3 awesome children to support her! Thinking of you all so much during this hard time!!!!

Dear Mary . Sean , Kevin and Christine, John and Nicole , Aunt Bridie, and all the grandchildren and siblings of Thomas- we are deeply saddened by Tom's passing so suddenly. Not only was he the "best "father in law our son could have had but a wonderful husband, father , grandfather, uncle, sibling and friend a person could have. We will surely miss our family get togethers where his bright smile could light up the room and make all in attendance feel welcome and loved. May the Lord be with him , may he rest in peace and may we all pray to him to intercede for us in our time of need. Charlie and Carol Ott

Mrs. Foley, I am so thankful for having you and Mr. Foley in my life while growing up. I always think of Mr. Foley as a hard worker and a kind soul, a true role model. I loved how he used to reminisce about me 'bringing the ball up the field', even when I was an adult! It was just an example of how he took an interest and showed his love. I am so sorry that I cannot be at the services with you and Brenda. Please know my heart is with you all.
I will remember Tom at Mass here in St Marys, Lower Manhattan, tomorrow, Wed, May 1st. I knew Tom through my good friend Phil Gallagher of Bethel. Our prayers for Tom's family.
