Carmen and Mackie, needless to say, we are so saddened to know of your mother's death. We had not seen her for a couple of years and our cards came back undeliverable. She (and your dad Max) were so very special to our family. The Tommy and Cleta Tucker family - Linda & Dave Higdon, Rick Tucker and Randy Tucker
Mrs. Pennick was my math tutor in the 1970's! She made all the difference for me. I later became a teacher and am sure her kindness and patience had something to do with that. I was just talking about her the other day to a friend whose little boy needs help in math and wishing we could find him someone as wonderful as she was. She really made a difference for me! You will all be in my prayers.
The correct website for my previous entry is www.71pioneers.com. There is a class picture of Mrs. Pennick's 4th grade class.
Mackie and Carmen, sorry to see of your mother's passing. I have many good memories with all of you when we were younger. My parents were Kenneth and vivian Callaway. Your Mom gave me a baby shower when I was expecting my first child.
Mrs. Pennick was my 4th grade teacher in 1962-63 at Mary Benton Elementary. I have a lot of happy school memories of her class. Besides teaching us the usual subjects, Mrs. Pennick taught my class how to knit! Each student helped knit a row on a headband. This class picture can be viewed on www.pioneers71.com. Click on the tab "when we were young" and then select Benton Elementary. She was a very good teacher.
