Dear Murray and Doris, I am so saddened by the news that my dear Aunt Gina has left this earthly world. She helped me so much with my grief when I lost my own mother. She and Uncle Bill were my godparents and Aunt Gina was like a spirital guide to me. I soaked it all in and couldn't wait to get home to talk to her. Our talks became part of her daily ritual, almost as predictable as her time on the porch with Uncle Bill. They loved each other so much. If only we could all have that. I truly believe they will reunite. Special souls.

Dear Doris, Murray, and Family:

Please know that All of You are in my thoughts & prayers, especially tomorrow during the service. With bittersweetness, I so grieve the loss of Your Mother's life as well as rejoice in the gifts and legacy which she leaves. I deeply regret that I will not be able to attend...

As you know, I so adored and loved 'Aunt Gina.' She was a beacon of love, brillance, warmth, and joy. I especially recall the numerous visits she and I shared one-on-one as we unraveled various theological/faith issues, and shared the latest books we were reading. She was truly an outstanding person and my special mentor :).

All week I have felt the lively glow of her Christmas tree smile. :) This signals to me her ongoing new life - her reunion with Uncle Bill, all the Saints, and her transformed presence among us :).

Love and Blessings,

Sue

I loved and admired Aunt Gina very much. She was an important part of my childhood and I enjoyed many visits and talks with her. She was one of my mother's best friends. After my own mother died I looked to her and Uncle Bill as if they were my own parents as they made me feel that way. I know what a loss you all are feeling and wish I could ease your pain. I will never forget the influence she had in my life. She was my favorite aunt and I am a better person from having known her. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Sincerely,
Your cousin Carol

I have very fond memories of your mother and father. My grandfather William Barton was a dear friend of theirs and our family throughout many many years(tennis and ga bulldogs too). I have written letters back and forth to your mother for years to stay in touch and also a few calls as well. She was a wonderful sweet and lovely lady and she will be missed by many, especially me.

I was Mrs Mccowen's mailman for several years. She was a sweet lady who was always in her yard working or a chair reading a book if the weather permitted. If it was cool she had on her overalls and jacket. She was delight to talk to. I know your family will miss her greatly.

Doris,
My brief time with your mother was inspiring! All the words in the obituary are right on as I found myself drawn to her as we talked on our ride to Macon.
Know that we are all thinking of you and we will celebrate her life with you and Jeff real soon.

Doris, I was so sorry to hear about your mother. It is never easy to lose a mother, no matter how old they are or how old we are. I will be remembering you during these days.

Doris, your mother really was an amazing woman, just like you are. I love you and hope that comfort will come to you during this heart-breaking time. Remember what I told you when we were together, last. When you reach out to call her, and realize you can, just say to yourself, "Oh, you already know."
