It is with much sadness that we reflect on our neighbour Bill, a gentleman of wit, charm, humour and deep character. It was an ordained gift that we settled in Sault Ste. Marie next to him ('97-'06). He invited us over to his house to spend our first New Year's a mere 6 weeks after moving in. It was a privilege to get to know him, and his sunny disposition, which truly demonstrated patience in adversity. We made of point of visiting him every time we returned to the Sault, with our last visit this past summer. We missed him after moving, and will miss him even more now. We look forward to the day that we will meet again and find great comfort in that fact.
Barry, Jerry and family, our deepest sympathy on the loss of this wonderful man.

So sorry to hear of the loss of "Mr Black". I live on the street behind and have known him for years and would often chat with him when he would be out on his bike/trike. He told me many times how he loved to fish and would love to be able to go out in the boat when he went visiting....He certainly was a kind thoughtful and caring man
I was thinking about emailing you soon to see what capers you might have been up to. I loved trading emails with you, and knowing that this will be my last message to you dampens the eyes and constricts the throat. Saying a final goodbye was not expected.
I'll miss helping you tinker around with your trike and, afterwards, chatting over a cup of coffee and one of your homemade muffins. But your spirit carries on, and I'll still be watching for you to come flying down the street on that big blue machine with a load of groceries in the back.
Thank you, Bill. I am richer for having known you.
