I first met Bill when I joined the Woodlawn/Greater San Antonio Camera Club and he was always such a fascinating man to talk with--and many of his photographs were breathtaking. He has been sorely missed (as Harold noted) and will be forever missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.
My husband,Leland, and I knew Bill for many years in the Woodlawn/Greater San Antonio Camera Club. He was such a great nature photographer! He gave me a print of a photo of the SA Botanical Center which he took several years ago. This photo will always remind me of a very special person. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. I didn't know Colonel Thomas, however, I can tell that he was a unique person and we owe him tremendous gratitude for his service to this country. It's always sad to lose one of the "greatest generation." Go with GOD.
Bill's photographs of Ducks and Butterflies usually won first place in Nature competition at Woodlawn/Greater San Antonio Camera Club. We have already misssed him the last few years when he dropped out because he could not drive at night to attend the meetings. May his family know that he lived a full life.
