Anne confirmed in her work that the interests of the students she served and the faculty and staff she represented, were one and the same. She fought for the dignity of both students and faculty. Of course, that included initiating ERD and Peer support, programs that helped faculty better serve students.
In these days of bashing teachers, Anne was a symbol of what teaching is all about. I doubt that she ever went home right after her classes. She was always at meetings, either helping her students, trying to improve the profession or representing her colleagues. And she did it in a way that was always thoughful and generous.
May she rest in peace.
