My Dad, Bernard Hoo was a bit of a funny guy, although many people did not understand his sense of humour, lol. When I was a child he used to sit my sister and I, one on each knee, and, stare straight ahead without blinking while we would hold onto his nose to see what he would do. Then, when we least expected it, he would make some type of loud noise and scare the heck out of us and we would laugh like crazy!
Several days before my Dad passed away I was leaning over him to give him a kiss and hug him goodbye before I left. Even though my Dad was very weak, he lifted his arm and tweaked my nose. His sense of humour never left him even at the very end when he tried to rally to make all of us feel better even though he was in terrible pain and was exhausted. That was the kind of Dad he was. He always thought about us first and how he could make our lives better. He and my mother worked two and three jobs to support all of us. Their whole life was all about their family. I can only say that all of my childhood memories were all about the good times that we shared. When I think of my childhood with you and Mom, Dad, I can only describe it as blissful. You were an amazing father Dad and no words can ever express how grateful that I am to you for the life and love that you and Mom bestowed upon us all.
Put on your dancing shoes Poppy as Mom is waiting!
You will remain forever in my heart and memories!
All My Love Poppy,
From Your Baby daughter,
Rest in Peace,
