My memories of Bellaire Methodist Church always include bert's smiling presence. My parents, Pauline and Boyd Kilgore thought the world of her, and her work with the School for Little Children. Bert's wit, humor and sparkle are vivid in my memory, as is the wonderful note of condolence she wrote to us when Mother died. I still have it.
With warm condolences,
Clara Kilgore Gilchrist
Bert was a blessing to me and to the School for Little Chidlren. She was our friend, our mentor and an advocate for children everywhere. I will miss her encouraging phone calls, her stories, her smile and the twinkle in her eye!
Martha, my deepest sympathy on the loss of your Mom...weren't you blessed to have her so long! Praying that soon the fragrance of memories will replace the grief! Fondly, Robin Burke Britt
Mrs. Riggs was my Mother Barbara Eason's friend and helped me in West University Elementary school as a counselor.. I remember her well and will keep her FONDLY in my memories.. My Mother will too.
Bert was a one of the most delightful people I have ever known. Our shared times at church and even visits at Clarewood House always left me smiling. She was my favorite VBS worker - the designated "lap" for unhappy kids! We enjoyed talking about how Willow Street had changed through the years - she was always a teacher and a joy. I will miss her.
