I met Betty 25 years ago when I lived in Springfield. She was on two of the golf leagues I played on (not very well, I might add) and she took me under her wing. She was a wonderful person and she left a lasting impression on me. When I moved away from the area, she took me to lunch to say goodbye. I just moved back to the area 3 years ago and was so sorry to hear of her illness. She left a lasting mark on my life as I am sure she did on many others. My deepest sympathy to the family.
I met Betty years ago in a ladies bowling league at King Pin. I believe Betty and I were part of a team that flew to Vegas for the national bowling tourney. We all liked going to the state and national ones just to see the world. I remember Betty to be a sweet, encouraging gal as I was barely in my 20s and was a single mom. She always gave me great advice. Of course the years separate people but I've never forgotten her kindness. Karola Reynolds Beahringer
Debbie and Randy,
I don't have to tell you what your mom meant to me. I have been so blessed to have had two moms. There was my mom, Elsie and then my other mom, Betty. What a wonderful, fun loving mom she was. Betty was always for what ever us kids wanted to do. Whether it was a card tournament with the neighborhood kids, pool, basketball, trips to Minn., Lake Springfield, fixing our hair before a big dance, or just hanging out. She was always someone that we could talk to about anything, and we did and probably more than she wanted to hear. We have all been so blessed to have Betty in our lives.
Last week I made a surprise trip home. Just one week before her passing. I will never forgive myself for not stopping by to see Betty. I am so sorry. Betty is now in a better place having fun with you dad, probably fishing. Hope they have ran into my mom and are playing cards with her.
I sent a letter to the funeral home to be read at her services, but for some reason it was returned to my email with a wrong email address. I am so sorry that I was not with you today. You have been in my thoughts and prayers.
So long Mom B., I miss you and can't wait to see you again. Give my mom a hug for me. Thank you for every thing. You are missed by all.
Randy, Debbie & Families sorry about the loss of your Mother. Betty & Howard were both good people and will be missed by anyone that knew them.
Randy and Debbie, and Families, I've Known Betty and Howard a Long time, 1st thru Uncle Carly and Aunt Elsie, and then in Come-Join-Us Class @ Elliott.
