I am heartbroken by the news of your death and my thoughts go out to your family during these dark, difficult times. May they find peace and comfort knowing you are in a better place, even though they wish you could have been left with them. You were always a sweetheart to me, and i will always remember that you showed me kindness when so few did. This is not the end, instead it is a new beginning. Your legacy will live on for all the years to come.

Candice was born October 5, 1985 in Forest Hills, Queens, New York. The energy and joy she gave often surprised, amazed and overwhelmed her family. On her fourth birthday, her Uncle Fred found it hard to believe that he had been debating “with a three year old all that time“. Candice was intelligent, curious, loving, and anxious to please her family. Yet, she greatly missed her mother, Lisa, who passed away of cancer in 1990 before Candice was able to begin the kindergarten class her mom registered her for on Long Island. Instead, her maternal grandparents brought her to Ocala, Florida. Candice enjoyed summers on Long Island with her cousins, Bill and James. As she matured and her grandparents grew older, she grew concerned about their health and time spent away from them. While Candice was a teenager, her grandmother's stroke left her bedridden and unable to talk but Candice helped her grandfather care for her. In 2006, Candice sought out and met with her overjoyed Jamaican paternal family members now living in Connecticut. After her grandmother passed away in 2010, Candice continued to care for her grandfather who has Alzheimer's disease. She even took her grandfather with her and her friends on a cruise. Candice was fun loving and enormously generous with both her time and her money. Even though Candice's life was not easy, her goal was always to help everyone and to bring them happiness. Like her mother, Candice is respected, loved, and most certainly blessed for the help and the happiness she gave during her brief life.

It's impossible to believe you have been called away so soon. My heart is torn between the sadness and the fond memories of talks and laughs & that smile.
It will shine forever.

My heart goes out to Candice's grandfather and family. I've seen the painful hand you have all been dealt over these years... My heart and soul is with you all -for it is the living who suffer with death.
Candice is with her Grandmother and Mother now -both of which I know she missed dearly. I know she's in heaven embracing their love and smiling down on the love that has been shown here.

Candice, you were always a giver with a heart and soul of gold. Always lifting spirits up as they faced some dark times...just simply a joy to be around and the definition of a friend...this was such a senseless tragedy... A very senseless tragedy- and one of the most heart ripping things I've ever had to experience.

Thank you god... for allowing ME to have the PLEASURE of knowing Candice for the past 11-12 years. Please continue to watch over her family and friends left behind. And although this is one of the hardest things I have ever had to do, goodbye girl you are dearly missed... May you rest in peace...
