unfortunately, I had a court appearance at the same time of the service for Carey. Debbie, as you know, your husband was one of my very best friends during the law school saga. If we had spent as much time studying as we did playing gin rummy, golf, and poker I am confident we would both have graduated in the top 1% of our class. But that did not happen and we had a lot more fun. It was also through Carey that I got to meet the members of Debbie's family, especially Fred Ward. Carey was truly one of my best and most memorable friends. I am very saddened that he is no longer with us.

Too short a life, but a life well lived, full of fun, love and service to others. I am grateful for knowing Carey and Debbie and Andrew and see the qualities all have passed on to others. May you find light in the moments of darkness ahead and know you are loved.

Carey was a wonderful, brilliant boss and a loving, kind gentleman. He will be so terribly missed by all who knew and loved him. I wish there had been more time with him. Love to Debbie and Andrew.
