Christine Suzanne Chilton
I had Ms. Chilton for Math in 2002. I'm so sad to see she passed away. She was a very nice lady and I went back a few years after I graduated to visit her and she remembered me and was so kind to me.
I was a student of Mrs. Chilton in 1986. I have always struggled with understanding math. She was one of the only math teachers that I had (high school and college) that helped me to be successful and understand what it was all about. I am now a teacher, and have thought about Mrs. Chilton so many times over the years. My condolences to the family. Know that she touched and enriched many lives through her teaching.
I had the privilege of working with Cris on the board of the Henrico Retired School Personnel Association. The minute she joined our group she jumped in and took on a job, and within a couple of years she was president! I admired the way she decided to live her life during the last two years - doing what she wanted to do in the organizations to which she devoted her time. We have lost an amazing member of the educational community.
I'm so sorry for your family's loss. I enjoyed visiting with Cris while she was at the General Assembly. She always had a smile and a kind word for everyone.
I am so sorry to hear of Cris' passing. I taught with Cris in the math department at Hermitage for 9 years. She truly modeled excellence in teaching. She was intelligent, caring, and oh so funny. She taught me that it was okay to make mistakes, and the best thing to do is to laugh. She will be missed.
