I just read the paper we get from E. V. T. A of God Church. I'm so sorry. Please know you will be in my prayers. When I saw you at The Terrace N.H., I was so happy to see you and your son. I feel so bad I did not know. Your husband was a wonderful person. Call me when things settled down. I understand just going through this last year. Love, Betty Wilson
Brother Embry was a walking, talkig miracle. He reminded me of President Jimmy Carter in so many ways. We were very fortunate to have a college educated southern aristocrat as our Business Manager, the working man's best friend.
He had been on my mind strongly for 2 weeks [not knowing He was ill] as I thought of organizing a 'Pioneer's of Macon' festival. I wanted to have Brother Embry and His wife flown to Macon so that he could tell some of the history there. I knew that time was fleeting for many of our elder historians.
I urge everyone to go on line and read of the many books, short stories and poems wriiten by Bro. Emry's grandfather [Harry Stillwell Edwards] at His writer's cabin on Browns Mound in Macon. He was perhaps the greatest and most prolific southern writer ever.
He owned several newspapers even tho His education was cut short by the War of Northern Aggression.
Broter Embry exemplied the greatness, humility, intelligence, kindness and perseverance of His ancestors. TO GOD BE THE GLORY!
I WANT TO THANK EMBRYS FAMILY FOR ALLOWING COMMUNITY HOSPICE HELP THEM THROUGH THIS DIFFICULT TIME AND THE PRIVILEGE I HAD OF BEING A PART OF THIS CELEBRATION. ARLINE KERINS
He was ONE OF OUR FAVORITE COUSINS
My prayers and thoughts are with the family during this time. Embry always put a smile on my face during choir practice. He will be missed.
