Daniel James Petroski Jr.
Something made me think of Pete"Mr. Petroski" today. I'm in shock and my heart is heavy! I had no idea of his passing. I worked for Pete several years ago over as the receptionist at Vahldiek, Cano & Petroski. He was such a sweet man. He was full of life and laughter. May he continue to Rest in Peace. My deepest condolences to his wife and daughters, which I knew he was very proud of.
Well, a week from today will be 3 months since Pete passed. It still seems so unreal to me, feels like it was only yesterday. Everyday I think about the conversation we were having just moments before he passed so unexpectedly. Me, my wife and daughter continue to pray for the family and loved ones that lost such an honorable man, friend, father , husband, son and brother... and an all around exciting guy to be around.
Pete's last few hours here in this life were spent talking about his daughters, wife and family.. he left this life professing his love for everyone dear to him. As I could tell by what was on his heart and mind. I can only hope that my girls know the same whenever it's my time to go home.
May you be blessed, find peace and feel His love during these difficult times.
Jennie, Katie, Lauren and Danielle,
Oh, how I loved your husband and your father. He was the brother that my parents never gave me. Pete was always a man I could count on to be there in all our family situations and give solutions to how to fix almost anything. Jennie and I started our journey together with our men 28 years ago and I will always cherish how Pete was the only male allowed to share our bridal party cabin. He was a girl's best guy friend. Cooked us delicious pancakes and helped all of us get ready for the big day:) My later precious memories would be how Pete was always there for my mom during some difficult years. Not only there but always up beat and sharing a "Pete laugh" that only he could give and lighten up the entire room with. Pete was always there for my children...especially when it came to a "game day". He was the uncle there taking the best pictures and making new friends so easily. Our last football game Pete came to capture pictures of Sean doing his thing (which he did) but took so many great pictures of the cheerleaders that they used them in the middle school yearbook. Those mom's are still asking about my brother-in-law. Pete had such an incredible techie gift that he was always the first to be called to solve a computer question. Pete's life was such a blessing to everyone that he encountered and his kindness and goodness will be cherished forever. He is a man that is a role model for my own husband and sons to follow in. I saw this verse and it touched my heart as we all continue to grieve for the loss of this great man.
"Life is a blend of love and loss, but love is always stronger...Love lives on forever."
Your light will continue Pete through your beautiful daughters and wife and all the lives you have so graciously touched and I will see you again my friend in a place where there are no more tears, no more sadness but life eternal with our Heavenly Father. I love you Pete and thank Jesus for your beautiful life.
My heart is still heavy and feels as if it has been pierced when I think about the loss of Pete. I remember him as a towheaded little boy with a sweet smile who grew into a loving man. Although we didn't see each other the past few years because we were all busy with our families, children, and life, he was such a treasure. His voice, laugh, and smile will forever be embedded in my memory.
