David Benua

When I began writing documentation at Percussion 11 years ago, Dave was already a fixture in the company. For my first few years, I was in a state of terrified awe whenever I worked with him - he was so brilliant and confident, and everyone in his group called him Dr. Rhythmyx. Needless to say, whatever he told me went straight into the documentation.

As the years went on, I saw that Dave was worldly and funny as well as a very proud dad. In time my terrified awe became . . . well, just awe.

I loved that Dave was an honest critic, and if he said something I wrote was good, I was proud of it.

Sue and Ricky, I'm so sorry for your loss and our loss. It's going to take me a long time to get used to the fact that when no one else can help me with a question, I can't stop by Dave's office and get the answer.

Dave was such a nice guy. I'll never forget how helpful he was to all of the team and how he always had time for us. He was not only extremely intelligent, but very personable and fun too. I'll miss the reasurring "Dr Rhythmyx is online" in my IM client.

He's been an inspiration in my life, and I feel better for having known the great guy.

Love & hugs,
Tim

What moves through us is a silence, a quiet sadness, a longing for one more day, one more word, one more touch, we may not understand why you left this earth so soon, or why you left before we were ready to say good-bye, but little by little, we begin to remember not just that you died, but that you lived. And that your life gave us memories too beautiful to forget.

May the love of those around you help you through the days ahead.

Peace, prayers and blessings...

Dear Susan, I was so sorry to hear of David's passing. I remember spending a lovely Thanksgiving with you all and Dick and Joan at their home in Larchmont. Please accept my condolences. Kathy Benua (Mrs. Louis Benua)
