Ms. Schwab was one of my gym teachers and we all loved her. My dad (deceased) played golf with her often. My prayers are with you all. Thanks for sharing her with us.
Coach Schwab left an imprint on the lives of many athletes. I was blessed to have played basketball and softball for her. My prayers are with her family members. Thanks for the memories Coach.
It is with great sadness that I write this note to Diana's family. We had the pleasure of having her in our home in Florida as she competed in the Doherty at Coral Ridge C.C. I had just heard from her as she wrote a note to me because I lost my husband Buzz suddenly on April 2nd. She sent that great picture of the 5 girls and Buzz. I was so pleased to receive it and so grateful for her kindness. She spoke often of her family especially Chelsea. She was so very proud of you all. Her golfing friends will miss her engaging smile and her sincere kindness towards others. I am happy to have known such a fine person. Taffy Brower
Mrs. Schwab was my softball coach in the late 70s at Fairmont West. She gave me a sense of self and work ethic that has lasted an entire lifetime.
I still remember the time Mrs. Schwab told me I was cut from the basketball team at Fairmont West. She didn't say "you really stink at basketball," although that was most certainly the case. She said, "have you ever thought about becoming a manager?" So tactful. She was great as a gym teacher and I could always tell when she was annoyed with me...she used my last name. For teaching moments, it was always the first name. Carey, I remember you from when you were hanging around with the basketball team as a 9 or 10-year old. I'm so sorry that this is the way we are reconnecting. All the best to you and your family. Fairmont West H.S., Class of '81
