Dixie Cecile Manning 1955 - 2012

Dixie Cecile Manning

Tuesday, April 24, 2012
Dear Mr. and Mrs. Manning and Allen:
I sang with Dixie and Allen for many years in the Jackson Choral Society and we also served on the board together. Those were very happy years, and although I have not sung with the Choral Society for years, they are special memories. I am so sorry for your loss. Dixie was indeed a very special person of whom I thought so much.

I never had the pleasure of meeting Dixie but did correspond with her when I joined the RMNP Fourum and she was certainly not only helpful but always pleasant. My condolances to her family...She will be greatly missed.

My husband (Henry Laird) & I graduated from Council Manhattan in 1973 with Dixie. Our paths crossed again in the mid 90's when we joined St. Matthews UMC in Madison, MS. Also became friends with Allen when I joined the chancel choir. Dixie & Allen left St. Matthews a few years ago, but we would see them from time to time at weddings & other events. Dixie was very smart, very talented & a very sweet person. We will miss her dearly! We hope the love of family & friends will be of comfort to Dixie's parents & Allen.
