My belated condolences from the Hargis family in Tennessee. My dad, Floyd, and Don were first cousins. My Grandmother Emma and Allene were sisters. I think I shook his hand at one of the Hargis family reunions and thanked him for his service to our country by serving in the Air Force. I want to reiterate that thought again to his family.

Warm regards,
Charles Hargis,

Uncle Don walked to beat of his own drum, a rare man with whom one could have intelligent conversation, and one who lived life without pretense. I cherish all my connections with Uncle Don. Thinking of you, Aunt Pat and family. Semper salute.

Thank you for quickly and kindly making me feel a valued and cherished part of the family from the very beginning. Don, Sr.'s generosity was evident. His tales and the sharing of his life were enriching. He was a good father-in-law.
I will miss seeing him, listening to his harmonica, guitar, and singing, and talking to him while he sat in his custom 'chair.'
Love, Debbie (Long) Baker
