Dr. Donald Joseph Eastmead
Such a nice, caring guy. You will be truly missed.
Don and I were AF Academy dulis (freshmen) together in Basic Cadet Training, and I think in Cadet Squadron 27 for our first academic year. I think we also had subsequent training together for survival and other activities.
I enjoyed his company and remember him as a very fine person. I may have visited his parents' home in San Antonio in 1971 or 1972.

It was a privilege to have worked with Don. I looked forward to seeing and talking with him when he would come to work. He will be truly missed.
To the family of Dr.Eastmead we are so very sorry for your loss. Dr. Eastmead was my son Sam's doctor for 20 yrs. He was the kindest and most sincere person I believe I have ever met. His caring and compassion for his patients were amazing. I truly don't know what my son would have done without him.. We will miss him terribly. Just know that he touched literally thousands of people, whose lives would not be what they are today without him. We are grateful and blessed that we found our way to him. Thank you Dr. Eastmead..
I met you as a 7 year old little girl that didn't understand why I couldn't sit down or why I had these impulses to do things even though I knew I would get in trouble. Through the years you helped me to understand why my brain was how it was and helped me deal and control it. You always talked to me like a person even though I was a child. I looked forward to our appointments. My parents adored you. My dad always talks about how smart you were on everything and how personable you were. I loved you coming into a room and jabbering in one of the many languages you knew and looking at us like we are crazy because we didn't know what you were saying. My son, who is now a patient, feels the same way about you that we all do and he's only met you a handful of times. He felt that way after your first meeting. He was upset when I told him but he was happy you are resting. We all are. We love, respect, and miss you so much. Thank you for all you did for us and all of your patients. You were a wonderful man.
