Bettie -- So sorry to hear of your loss. Dick and I are not able to be with you in Houston for the services, but our love and thoughts are with you. You and Don have always been special to us. I'll miss my hugs from Don.
Bettie -- All my sympathy is with you and your family. Don was the best commander that I served with in the USAF. He was a combat leader, but was also a father figure to all of us.
My name is Jim Bauser - USAF 1963-1968 (Fuels Officer) , and Jerry McCluer is my cousin-in-law . He asked me to go to represent him at the funeral in Houston. Best wishes to the family , friends , and to all the Black Sheep . I would certainly love to have had Col. Hobart as commander during my time in service. He surely was a great and wonderful man. It was a great pleasure to meet and talk to many of you at the funeral. God be with all of you , who did so much for us in your careers .
Dear Bettie, Mardi and I are so sorry to hear about Don's death. He was a good friend, and I will miss him and the help he gave me with the Military Service Coalition. He did so much for the veterans in Austin. ... You are in our prayers. Love,
Colonel Hobart was a wonderful volunteer and director of the Retiree Activities Office at Camp Mabry. He will be missed. We are all sorry for your loss.
