Mrs. Dorothy Perry Milam age 88 of Griffin, passed away Saturday March 24, 2012, in Spalding Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Milam was born in Columbus, Georgia on April 3, 1923, to the late Charlie Carson and Rena Ford Perry. She was a retired LPN having worked at the office of Dr. Ralph Hajosy and Griffin Spalding County Hospital. Mrs. Milam was a member of First Presbyterian Church and Elks Aidmore Auxiliary. She volunteered for many years with the Hope Health Clinic as well as a retired nurses group that volunteered in several capacities including health screening for the Spalding County Schools.
Mrs. Milam was preceded in death by her husband, Wade Waters Milam, a son, Robert Lee "Bob" Milam as well as two brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include sons and daughter and their spouses, Charles Milam and wife Wanda of Florida, Richard Milam and wife Eilene of Jackson, Holly Betz and husband Gary of Griffin and Mark Milam and wife Patricia of Jackson; grandchildren, Charles "Paul" Milam, Flint Milam, Michael Milam, Gary Milam, Wade Milam, Amanda Oachabauer, Kelsey Milam, Marshall Milam, David Milam, Lora Eddy, Kelli Betz, Adam McDowell, Krissy Hopkins and Mary Susan Milam. Other survivors include eighteen great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Perry Milam will be conducted on Tuesday March 27, 2012, at 11 a.m. in the Sanctuary of First United Methodist Church. Rev. Kevin Barnes will officiate. A private committal service will be held for the family at Oakhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 6 – 8 p.m.
