Julie, Allison & Ricky.. Your dad (husband) and I were friends. Our friendship began in 1997. I was young pharma rep and Dr. Rick became my friend. We formed a band in 1999 and enjoyed 3 incredible years as a group of talented musicians playing all over the state. Rick was the key to our band with his incredible passion and uncanny knack for soulful play on the guitar. The band made great music because Rick gave so much of his creative soul. Professionally, Rick was always a teacher and a mentor for me. As I developed, Rick always provided a cornerstone of solid advice for me. So much of my training and experiences were "run by him" as a sounding board. Rick was my counsel. When others couldn't get in to see him, Rick always made time for me. He was a true confidant and friend. Rick helped me advance in my career to the top echelon with the largest and most prominent Pharma company in the world.
We jived! Rick had soul! His music and feel for the guitar had so many people captivated. At shoes, countless fans came up to him and asked him about his feel and talent. he was always humble and made it sound easy like anyone could do it. The truth is that many can play guitar. Few, actually less than 1%, can play the way Rick did. His soul and heart came through in his tone and feel. I would say with 100% confidence that as many people who were touched by his gift in medicine were touched by his soul and musical talents. Please always know that Rick, your dad, your husband, touched lives. To the core. He gave of himself and made believers of all those around him. Believers in both the healing powers of medicine and music. I love you all. you may not remember me, but I know you nd will pray for you forever. His day of passing will be with me always. The way Rick lived, will be with me forever. Justin Barker

I first met Dr. Adams when he was a resident and was working at Dr. Hull's office where I worked. He was an amazing physician who cared about his patients. Once his residency ended, Dr. Adams left us in Ormond Beach to work in Palm Coast. We missed him. Then one day, the office staff was invited to a luau by a pharmaceutical company..... and there was Dr. Adams playing his guitar with his band. He was so very talented. Now, I work for a general surgeon in Palm Coast and every once in a while we'll see one of Dr. Adams' patients. They have always spoken very highly of him. He made his patients feel like they were his friends and his patients truly did love him. It was a pleasure and a privilege to have known such an extraordinary physician and friend.
