Dear Akin Family,
I worked at Germantown High during the tenure of Mr. Akin, as assistant principal. He was a joy to work with and a wonderful support for all the teachers there. I am saddened to hear of his passing; may God comfort you.

Mr Akin was our principal at Collierville High School. He was a fair , kind and strong man. We still refer to him when he told a group of students " I dont want to find anyone smoking that "Wacki Tobacci" We loved him and he will be missed.
Mr Akin was my Assistant Principle when I was at Hillcrest High School. He was truly a kind and honest man! Our school system will not be the same and he will be missed. Condolences to his family.
To the Akin family:
Dudley Akin was an excellent educator who made a positive difference in the lives of thousands of students. He was caring to others and committed to the organization. Dudley will be well remembered, and he will be missed.
He was a true southern gentleman in every sense of the word. He was always kind and the first to say hello. A genius when it came to "common sense". I will always remember him and my trips to the maintenance shop and warehouse off of Winchester Road.
