Eddie Leon Allen 1953 - 2013

Eddie Leon Allen

Saturday, May 11, 2013
My prayers go out to Eddie's family and friends. Throughout our careers in the AF we crossed paths until 1998, when our paths merged at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, in pursuit of excellence in the mental health career field; but more importantly the men and women who served as technicians, nurses, social workers, psychologists, psychiatrists, secretaries, and anyone else who was fortunate enough to interact with him. He continued this energy and passion following his retirement and I was blessed with a compassionate friend who always pushed the limits of influencing us to be better people and serve others. Eddie was a colleague and friend, whose conversation on any topic I will greatly miss, he was “one of a kind” who always did more than his best. I am so thankful to have had the pleasure of his company along this journey. Love you Chief!

RIP Chief.

It was a very sad day upon hearing that Chief Allen had passed away. When I found myself retraining into the Mental Health career field after more than 14 years in a much different career field, he was patient, understanding, and very helpful as a mentor and leader. My deepest sympathies go out his spouse and children.

My thoughts and prayers to Chief Allen's family and friends. I was very sad to hear of his passing. Chief Allen was a dedicated, passionate leader to the Air Force and to the Mental Health Career Field. When substance abuse and mental health merged, that passion and leadership helped to create the vision and direction of the career field. His legacy will not be forgotten.
