Working for Liz for the past 15 years has been an honor. I will miss her stories and her insight. She was a remarkable woman. Mecklenburg County was indeed privileged to have her serve. Liz is a true inspiration.

When my three boys and I moved to Charlotte, Liz chaired the Board of Elections. When I met her, I was so inspired that I became a follower of hers from that day forward, and worked diligently for her campaign for County Commission. She was a true advocate for the causes that needed a leader in our community and worked passionately for women. This community had not seen such a female advocate in its past and all women, as well as men, should remember her legacy of civic responsibility and leadership. Love to her family and appreciation to her caregivers.

I met Liz through a political science course at UNCC. Three of us signed up to work her 1974 campaign and we went everywhere with her, being called "the little Hairs". It was magical time and Liz was a perfect role model for a 20 year old woman in the 70's. God's speed Liz and thanks for your guidence! Tonya Banbury, UNCC Class of '76
Charlotte is a better place because of Liz Hair. Our family loved living across the street from her and Sam. Countless happy memories including playing Trivial Pursuit by candlelight after Hurricane Hugo, when our son came to understand that these nice older neighbors were REALLY SMART. Liz was a remarkable combination of strength, grace, style and compassion. It was a privilege to know her.
Love to her family,
