Ms. Blatz, it was wonderful having you as a librarian. I had the opportunity of seeing you years later as one of my patients. It was great taking care of you. Rest in peace.

Even though it has been years, I remember Betsy with a smile. She was my regional supervisor on the L.E.S. region (1980-19900 TS, HF, OT CLASP when times were challenging yet exciting.
She will be remembered. We send condolences to her family and friends.

I have lots of photos of those wild and crazy days.

Betsy and I attended high school in Brussels. I admired her from across the classroom. She seemed quiet, but when we talked her kindness and quick smile made me feel like we were good friends, at a time when I felt like such an outsider. Betsy had a classically beautiful face and I loved her full, straight brown hair. I wanted to be like her. She went on to have a great career, ending up at the NY Public Library, which I found so impressive. She was looking forward to retirement. Rest in peace, Betsy. I will always remember you as a friend. xx

My nickname for Betsy was "Gorgeous." It was a name that suited her in so many many ways. I remember that she was my date to the senior prom in Brussels. Travelling with Betsy, Jayne and the Volleyball girls around Europe was a fond memory. Like Jayne just wrote, we had always wanted to haunt the streets of Brussels together. I guess this is now not to be.
But listen, Gorgeous, we will go to the Roi D'Espagne one night, have a beer and listen carefully for your special laugh, as we toast the memory of a wonderful person. Rest well, Betsy. Flights of angels sing thee to thy rest. Hans Hahne

Betsy and I met in Brussels when we were 12 and have been best buds ever since! We went through many 'firsts' together and always remembered birthdays as we are only a week apart. Truly my surrogate sister. I will remember to good times and the wonderful person Betsy was....always a kind word for everyone and truly one of a kind! She is leaving us much too soon! I had hoped we could enjoy Brussels again but I know she is with me in spirit and now laughing without a care in the world. God bless you Bets and much love always! Jayne
