Dear Robin and Evie,
I haven't seen you all for so many years, but it gives me joy, poignancy, sadness and gratitude to see this beautiful picture of your mom and to remember her warmth kindness and grace.
We lived just on the other side of you on Burns Lane and had so many conversations with your mom across the little fence in the back yard as well as at your and our houses. We missed you when you moved. I'll never forget the welcoming affection that Ellen had towards all of our family and to us kids in particular. She was a great person and I'm sending prayers and warm thoughts to you and all of your family now. I hope the brightness of her spirit will light up your memories in the coming years.
Call me if you get to New York!
