George, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your wife. I have never met her, but I am sure she was nice. You are such a nice man and I enjoy speaking to you whenever I visit The ECH. You are in my prayers. God Bless You!!!

Tom, I am very sorry for the loss of your mom. I know that both of your parents are special to you. I am sorry that I will not be able to attend the service Saturday with Toni and Jennifer. You have my deepest sympathy. Remember "we are of good courage, I say, and prefer rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord." 2 Cor. 5:8
May God bless you and your family.

I am very sorry for your loss. Faye was the librarian at John Marshall school when I began my teaching career. I loved the way she was with children and her way of making stories come alive. She was an inspiration to me and over the years her name came up time and time again when people who knew her talked about great educators.

Fay and I have been good friends since the l950's.
In l952, we began taking walks with our children, Linda and Kenny, in their strollers.
We shared many interests - reading, crossword puzzles, baking, Derby Day parties, UMW. Bible studies and our love for each other.
I think of Fay each time I pass their home on 6th Street.
I miss her.

When I became the principal of Marshall School at 7th and Hill in 1971, Fay was the librarian. Even with a difficult group of inner-city poor kids, black and white, she was outstanding! I clearly remember one afternoon when she came eagerly into my office, proudly announcing that she had circulated more books that day than there were kids in the school! She was loved and respected by all -- kids and parents and faculty!
