Frank L Obremski 1949 - 2014

Frank L Obremski

Tuesday, March 25, 2014
I first met Frank in the early 1970's when I worked as a summer ticket clerk at the LIRR Jamaica Station and he was one of the police officers assigned there. Then, and during each of the many intervening years, it was my observation that Frank would do ANYTHING for ANYONE. A quarter of a century later, Frank and I teamed up to brief the NYPD Chief of the Department on transportation plans for a threatened Amtrak strike. Forty years later, Frank would interrupt his retirement to call me periodically to offer the LIRR any assistance he could provide, especially his thoughts relating to our coordination with the leadership and members of the Nassau and Suffolk Fire, Police and Medical Services. He was respected as a knowledgeable professional by everyone who worked with him on the railroad, his fellow police officers and brother and sister volunteer firefighters. He lived and breathed each of those organizations. Frank, thank you for everything! You have done a lot of good work and innumerable good works during you many years of active service to your professions and to your community. You will be profoundly missed.

I am so sorry to hear of Frank's passing. I remember seeing Frank at the bagel store and also dropping Nancy off and picking her from school. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Nancy, and all of your relatives.
Sincerely,
Mike & Nancy

Hey Frank, you had a great run. We had many fun times together. See you in heaven!

Your brother and fellow firefighter, John.

P.S. I bought new sandals for the beach
