Mr. Kestner was the kindest man our facility had the honor to care for. We enjoyed listening to his many stories he had to tell about his life experiences. The love he had for his wife and family was evident. Mr. Kestner made a point to say hello to everyone and knew everyone by name. He is greatly missed.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. We always enjoyed our Thanksgivings together. During these times, it was evident how much Frank loved his family. He was a very special man.

Rest with God Uncle Franklin. Prayers are with all the family. Sorry we can't be there.

Many years ago, shortly after I moved to Tucson and began teaching English at University of AZ, Frank contacted me regarding his dream of publishing a book about his experiences in Korea. We met and enjoyed a delightful conversation, during which I gained an insider's view of the disaster at Chosin. Ultimately, I felt that a man (ok, call me sexist!) would be more suited to the project, and I put Frank in touch with a graduate student in the Creative Writing Dept. Everything turned out well, the book was published, and Frank presented a copy to me with his hand-written inscription. I cherish that book to this day. I was so sorry to learn that Frank had died. Our relationship was brief and long ago, but I have never forgotten his enthusiasm and passion for publishing his book. I was so happy for him that he realized his dream.

Frank was a dear friend for 29 years. He will be greatly missed, especially the long talks we used to have over many subject. I have many good memories of our time together.
