There are times in your life where you meet that one person who really helps bring light to your world. I met Coach Hurlburt around a time where I was depressed and didn't really know that many people at NHS. He was my sisters coach and no matter what he always made me feel included whenever they were practicing or any games we went to. Whenever he caught me drawing he would always encourage me to keep at it. Even after my sister and I graduated he stayed in touch with both of us to see how we were doing. I will miss our conversations and I will miss the glow he always had whenever he started talking about anything. Thank you Coach, for believing in me so I could believe in myself.
I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know coach Hulburt. Am sorry for his families loss. He will truly be missed.
Fred as a parent of Amy Drake I always appreciated the advice and encouragement you gave her on and off the court. She is the person she is today because of what you taught her. You will truly be missed.
Many people come in and out of our lives, but only a few have impacts on us as people. These people build us and give us part of themselves. Coach was one of these people in my life. He taught me what it meant to be an honest person, a person of integrity. He was more than a basketball coach to me. He was another father figure. I am the person I am today because of him and for that I will always be grateful.
Although I'd seen Fred briefly since college he was a wonderful loving spirit and his family will remain in my thoughts and prayers.
