G. Dallas Foster

I met Dallas only one time at a Halloween party, but I immediately felt at home talking to him about post-transplant issues. He then started singing with the band, and I realized how talented he was and how much he embraced life.

Dallas, you were such a wonderful friend who was there to help me and support me before I had my liver transplant when I was absolutely scare to death. Your knowledge and calming influence reassured me that I could get through the surgery and heal just as you had done. After I was back on my feet, we became intertwined, helping others who were facing the frightening experience of organ transplantation. In addition, you helped me become the tireless promoter of organ donotion that I am today. I will miss our 2 hour discussions about history, politics and the world of transplant medicine. I will miss your stories of your career as a musician, I will miss getting to share the stage with you, soaking in your amazing musicianship. I will miss all of these things and more. I promise you that I will step up my efforts in promoting organ donation and I will share your story with everyone I can, telling them how you were given 12 extra years of life from your transplant and how you absolutely lived and loved every extra second that you were given. I'll miss your physical presence, but you will always be deep in my heart. I love you like a brother. Keep rocking upstairs !!

If I had known 3 weeks ago it would be the last time I got to hug you, I would have hugged you tighter, longer. I still can't believe you are gone yet I know you are in a much better place. Really going to miss you & everything about you my friend. Until we meet again Vaya Con Dios. My deepest sympathy to the family & friends left behind.
Much love,
Cathy R. Gibson
