Gerald Frank

So sorry I couldn't attend the memorial service. I worked with Jerry at MMC where he was known as the "group therapy guru". I send my sympathy to his family and friends. I am so saddened to hear of his death.

I will always remember Jerry with a smile on my face. We shared many good times together and sometimes found ourselves straining to get to the finish line first! He made me a better runner and also a better person. Carolyn, you and Nathan are in our thoughts and prayers.

My heartfelt condolences to Mrs. Frank and the family. I really enjoyed his stories and little life lessons at the cigar shop. After he found out my mother was a Marine during WWII we bonded and he became more than just one of my customers; he was a friend and I'll miss him. Tell mom "Semper Fi", if you happen to meet up with her on that side. Rest in peace my friend.

So sorry to hear this. We lost touch over the last few years, but the times we spent smoking cigars and drinking coffee were priceless.

So sorry Carolyn, Nathan and family to learn of your loss. 'Jerry' was a great friend.
The message in the paper eloquently described his active lifestyle. I remember the genesis of him determining to get into shape. In the mid 70's, we had a picnic celebration for the Dept of Psychiatry. Joining in a softball game, Jerry had made his way around to third base. When the batter got a base hit, Jerry thought he could chance scoring, so he rushed for the plate. About three-quarters of the way home, he pulled both hamstrings and hobbled around the hospital (and everywhere else) for a few weeks. He lamented how poor his conditioning was and determined to reverse the decline. He began walking as soon as he was able, then added the running - as slow as it was at first. The rest of that story is in the records.
Many cherished memories of our five years working together!
