Geraldine M. Alsup

Friday, July 04, 2014
Ms. Alsup has been on my mind for months now. I feel bad that I did not get in touch. Not only did I have the pleasure of being in her first grade class at Norton, but I got to teach with at Wilder when I grew up. She said " Janet, now that we work together you can call me Gere" I quickly replied you will always be Ms. Alsup. She blessed me in so many ways. When I transferred to Norton, She came to my class as a room mother or should I say grandmother. It was great to have her around. Amy,Ciera, Mr. Alsup ( I was in your class at U of L) I am truly sorry for your loss. I only found out a day or so ago. I have great memories as I know you do to. My prayers are with you. Thank you for sharing her with us all.

Dear family members of Mrs. Alsup. I am very sorry for your loss. Mrs. Alsup was my first grade teacher at Norton in 1972. As my first teacher I will always remember her and that she is the person that taught me how to read. A Master's Degree later,I still remember being a first grader and I would know Mrs. Alsup's picture anywhere. I can't explain why, out of the blue, I looked her name up tonight but now... I guess I know. God bless you.

Dear Rea, Jeff and Amy, we were sorry to miss the memorial service for Gere. Carol remembers her as one of her very favorite people that she met while teaching at Norton and Wayne remembers great times when she brought the kids over for falconry training. What a great lady, she will be missed.
