I met Jerry when I first arrived Houston in the mid-70's. He was always full of friendliness, a true gem, & wealth of knowledge. I will always value knowing him. My condolenences, positive thoughts, and prayers are with the family during this difficult times. Warmest Jim Jackson
Jerry was a powerhouse in the transportation industry but, more importantly, he was a wonderful human being. He treated everyone, from Presidents of industry to a laborer on the dock, with the same degree of respect. He has left a powerful and enduring legacy and will be deeply missed.
I first met Jerry when he was with Stone & Webster and of course, met with him during my Houston area business calls while he was with Rickmers. I was the sales person representing the Port of Baltimore then and still reside in Baltimore. I'm sorry I couldn't be in Houston this week to pay my respects to a great guy. I wish his family the best and offer you my heartfelt condolences. Mel Bafford
