Nonna (or Nonse as I called you), you always watched over your family and friends. Now is the time God will look after you. Take a look futher...
Helen loved working for Upland Lemon Growers Association and retired in 1978 after 31 years. She then worked for stores in local cities for close to ten years. In 1988, Helen began volunteering at San Antonio Hospital in the Admissions and the gift shop. In 2010, Helen donated more than 20,000 hours for 23 years. She was an active participant in the Catholic Daughters of America, the Sons of Italy, the Fun After Fifty Club and the events for senior citizens at the Gibson Center in Upland. She will be remembered for her enthusiasm, optimism and sense of humor. Helen was very supportive and greatly enjoyed events for senior citizens.
Besides from enjoying interaction with others, Helen loved cooking for visitors as well as family and growing her own vegetables. One Italian pasta guests remember is her home-made gnocci!
Though she claimed not to be a good dancer, Helen loved music and had a beautiful singing voice; she enjoyed singing along with records at home and hymns in church.
Helen will be remembered for giving so much of herself to support charity organizations and her love of family and friends.
