My name is bill J williams from Lebanon Mo and I was a student of Dr. Blass's at Southwest Baptist College. He taught me so much about History and also being a lover of Books and he was a true friend when I was down; also James Bybee another student at swbc and myself send our condolences for Dr. Blass was a true friend and one of the finest Professor's we had.
Linda and Scott, you have my deepest sympathy for your loss. Dr. Blass was my advisor, teacher, and fellow historian. May the Lord comfort you until you see him again, perfected and healthy at the feet of his Saviour.
My dad died last year. My heart goes out to you, Linda and Scott.
When I arrived at Liberty in 1999 my office was one hallway down from Homers office. I had occasion to ask him for help on a graduate research paper. He offered a copy of the book that I needed with illustrations of the revolutionary war battle of the Brandywine by N. C. Wyeth. I followed him to his office, which was a maze of books. To my surprise within a few minutes he produced the book I needed.
I will always remember Homer's smiling face even in times of difficulty in his mobility for the last few years. What an inspiration to us all.
God bless you both.
Linda and Scott, Our Thoughts and Prayers are with you in this time.
