I will miss my mom very much. Her calling for boiled crabs and I would ask how many you want momma and who all is coming. The last time she was at my restauant Peggy's on the bayou in Orange,Tx was for my baby brother Wayne Birthday. She enjoyed them crabs and would say they sure good and full.
She always would say don't worry and need to laugh more and smile. You need to be happy dont worry Peggy.
When she wanted to visit her sisters I would drive her or go with her to Arnaudville. La. And I would bring her and her sisters Aunt Earline Knott
and aunt Hilda and Uncle Gussie Cormier to the Casino. They all had a good time and I was so proud being their with them. They would get together at her other sister Ethleen Tayou to play cards or booray.
I remember mom on weekeneds would play booray with her family and friends since I was little. The funny thing mom never said how much she lost only what she wins.
Mom loved to go fishing. I do remember her going with my husband Richard Albair and friend of his Sid Gillis. They caught a few fish and she caught some and was real proud of the catch.
Another time we were coming back from Hackberry,La and were on a back road heading to I10 when she spotted a turtle. She made me stop she got out and got the turtle. She put the turtle in back of my pickup truck and she couldn't wait to eat that turtle. When we got home I had a long table hanging out of the cab I ask mom should we put the turtle in box or something. She said oh no it be alright tomorrow.
Well the next day we went to my restaurant and I remember we need to put the turtle in a box so she could take it home for Emily for brother Wayne's wife to clean for mom. When I looked in the back of truck bed the turtle was gone. I told mom and she couldn't believe me so she looked and there was no turtle. I figured he must have climed out back of the truck and I told mom he must of went back to Louisiana and he decided he wasn't going to be her dinner. We laugh all day.

Keith & Renee,
Although we met your mom a couple of times, we never really knew her. However, judging by the terrific person your are Keith, she must have been a terrific mother.
Again, so sorry that we aren't able to be with you and your family during this sad time. We are keeping all of you in our thoughts and prayers. Love all of you, Darlene and Don

I offer you my thoughts and prayers. Aunt Ida's accent always interested me. I know many of us will miss hearing her voice. Now God gets to hear her even clearer than He did before.
