James L Adams

Monday, December 31, 2012
Mr. Adams as I knew him, was a very special man as the father of my best friend, Mike. While we lived in Briarwood down the street, he was instrumental in my love and passion for sports and showed me so many things I would have never otherwise learned or experienced. I have so many fond memories of his kindness, gentle words, taking me with his sons on roadtrips to see Okemos and MSU sporting events. God rest his soul. Our prayers and blessings to the Adams family.

On behalf on the entire Breslin family,I would like to say that Jim will be missed greatly. MSU and broadcasting in general is better for the professionalism learned from Jim Adams. Always friendly and quick with that smile, he was a joy to be around. What a great man!
May God Bless you and yours.

To be sure, Jim loved the games, the stats, the tactics, the strategies, and the calls. But even more so, he loved the color, the pageantry, the band, the crisp Red Cedar air, the bantering, the tradition, and the Proustean biological memories of the senses. Nobody immersed himself more in the sights, smells, tastes, sounds, and magic of an autumn Saturday in East Lansing. Theologians can argue about what heaven is like, but for Jim, I know it's forever Fall; the leaves are turning; the band is playing; and the plans for tomorrow's Broadway show on WKAR are on hold. And Jim offers over a walk along Grand River, "I'll never forget the time Duffy..." And all is right.
