Our deepest sympathies to Joan, Jimmy and Jill. "Doc" was an outstanding mentor, advisor and friend. We shall always remember him as a true wildlife professional that set very high standards for all of us who had the pleasure of knowing and studying under him.
The world has lost a great man.

I am saddened by the fact that I had to find out about the passing away of the good Professor by chance through searching for his name via the internet. He was the head of department at Texas A&M during 1974 to 1975 when I studied for my MS degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences and he followed me back home to Botswana in Africa to help me during my research for the degree. He was a very friendly and helpful gentleman and he made me feel like any other student and not the only black African in the class. A moya wa gagwe o robale ka kagiso (may his soul rest in peace) hrartfelt condolences to his family.

Dr. Teer was the quintessential professional to us all, and to me he was teacher, mentor, example, and friend. I am better for knowing him, and we are all less in his absence. The wild things of our world have lost a true advocate. Our circle is broken, and I will miss him.

I was saddened to hear of Jim's death. I know you, Jill, and Jimmy will miss him. I also know I will miss him.

He was my under-graduate advisor, the chair of my graduate committee, and a big help in my professional career. I am proud to have worked with him.
