I am deeply saddened by the loss of Jere, a loving husband and best friend to Jacquie and a very proud father to Alan. First time I met Jere was up in Franklin, MA. I was chasing my Old English Sheepdog puppy through the woods not knowing where I would end up. Shortly after the chase began I could hear a voice saying "Jacquie come quick, it's an Old English puppy". At that point I met Casey and Daisy, 2 full grown Old English dogs and their owners, Jacquie and Jere. That was the day I was blessed with two wonderful friends. Jere was a kind man with a great sense of humor and he needed that humor especially when Jacquie and I got together. There was a day when Jacquie decided to teach me the art of cooking a whole chicken. Jere walked in while I had the chicken dancing on the table. The look on his face was priceless and of course he had his comical statements to go along. I can go on with so many stories but space won't allow so I will end by saying hold tight to memories for comfort, lean on your friends for strength and always remember how much you are loved and cared about.

Many years ago Roger and I went on a camping trip with Jere and our good friend Bob Saunders to Shenandoah National Park. When we arrived at Hawksbill Mountain we sat on a high ledge and admired the view of the hawks floating on the wind high above the valley. In my minds eye I can see their spirits soaring on the sweet and gentle breezes becoming one with nature. Dear Jacquie and Alan I am so sorry to hear about Jere's passing but we must all take comfort in knowing that he is in a better place.

Jacquie & Alan, I will always have great memories of Jere. We became friends when I moved to the neighborhood in 1958 and remained friends 'till the end. We did lots of traveling, hiking and camping in our younger years. Even though our lives went in different directions we could always pick up where we left off. The memories will always keep him alive in our hearts and minds.
