I am saddened by the loss of a great friend. I have been remembering our times at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart and Cathedral High, and just hanging around Pine Point. Jacquie and Alan I feel your loss. I drove down Denver Street yesterday, thought of days long past and said a prayer.

We are deeply saddened by the untimely passing of Jere Pastreck, first a neighbor from Franklin, MA, then a long-time friend over four decades. He and his wife Jacquie became somewhat of an "uncle" and "aunt" (but thought of more like pals) to our two children as they frequently enjoyed Saturday afternoon movies and popcorn together or even just general chitchat. Even our cat, "Midnight", was their house guest as he learned to stand on the porch railing and rub against the doorbell button to announce his presence.
There are many enjoyable memories like that. We recall Jere proudly showing us his annual gardens, not only in Massachusetts but also when we visited in Texas and Michigan. His vegetables were rightfully prized and enjoyed by friends and neighbors alike. But nothing was nurtured more than his love for his wife Jacquie and son Alan.
Jere was a quiet, assured man. He went about his life continually and deliberately building his very successful career at GMAC and loving his family. His absence leaves a void that can never be filled and he will never be forgotten.

Jacquie and Alan,

I was so saddened by the news that uncle Jere passed away this week. My thoughts and prayers are with you both during this very sad time. Jere will truly be missed but will remain close in my memory.
