To the entire Family – Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time. So many good memories come to mind when the name Amosson is spoken. For me, the biggest is how you opened your home and your hearts to my son, Joel, when he decided to leave Colorado and return to Plano for friends and college. You were his second family – all the additional siblings and another Mom and Dad were just what he needed. Your guidance and love at that time in his life were a true gift and one that is remembered to this day. Each of us have one of Connie's angel paintings in our homes and they are constant reminders of your wonderful family. May your memories bring comfort and smiles to you all.
All - Jerry, Connie, and each of you are in our prayers today. He was a great man and truly a witness for Christ throughout his life. Your words above are so true. We remember his welcome spirit at your home and also at the lake when we were in Texas. His Christmas cards were always classics and we looked forward to his visit to Iowa each year! I'm looking at one of Connie's paintings hanging in our family room right now. Brings me a smile as I see and hear them both in my mind. I cry with sadness for his loss but know the peace and joy they are experiencing with the angels! Please know we are with you all in spirit and will say a Rosary for him today.
I wish I could be there with everyone right now, please know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers. Uncle Jerry was one of the most generous, caring, and loving people that I have ever met. His presence was so calming, it is hard to put into words. There are not many people that you will meet in life that you can sit in absolute silence with and not once feel awkward or uncomfortable. Many days when Grandma was sick I would sit across the table from him as he did his Sudoku quietly, occasionally glancing up with a grin to let me know that he was there. He said so many things, without ever saying a word. I know he is where he belongs with Aunt Connie now and I am thankful for the times that I was able to spend with him. There are so many good memories that he has created with so many of the people whose lives he has touched. I feel truly blessed to have had the chance to know such an amazing man.
To my summer Dad thank you so much for opening your home to me during the summers and allowing me to complete school. You never knew how much I appreciated you. You will be sorely missed until we meet again. I know Connie is waiting for you.
Brett, Tammy, and family -- A beautiful tribute that brings tears and a smile. Sounds like Jerry led a full life, filled with the love and legacy of family. I especially liked his title of Executive Grandfather! Thinking of you at this sad time. It is never easy to lose a parent, no matter our age. Take care. Joanne and Ray Enama
